Plano is known for many things including authentic Texas cuisine, great neighborhoods, and plenty of entertaining things to do. But what locals know that visitors may not is just how vibrant the music scene is. Plano’s local venues showcase every type of music from country to pop, and it’s easy to find at least one spot serving up live music in Plano on any given night. These five venues will have you tapping your toes and swaying your shoulders in no time.

Taverna Rossa

The deer antler chandeliers and cozy lights are your first clues that Taverna Rossa is anything but fancy. The intimate stage hosts washboard-playing bluegrass bands, twangy rock acts and everything in between every Friday and Saturday night. The family-friendly tavern is the perfect spot to enjoy live music in Plano with the kids – make sure to sample the root beer on tap!

Sambuca360

If you’re looking for dinner and a show, Sambuca360 is just the place to go. The one-stop dining and entertainment destination has a large stage, patio and two bars and pulls the bigger names in town such as The Chris Weaver Band and Emerald City. Sambuca360 hosts live music every night of the week, and although the venue holds 450 people it still manages to feel intimate on date night.

Love and War in Texas

The unapologetically Texas-themed Love and War in Texas boasts local beers, music and down-home recipes from all corners of the state. The beer garden has contributed to country music history, having launched more than one music career including Miranda Lambert’s. While the entertainment skews towards country music, you’ll hear rock and blues as well. Wednesday thru Saturday, the live entertainment features mostly local Texas artists with the occasional celebrity guest. If your sweet tooth starts acting up, order the chocolate mousse cake. It’s more than a little decadent!

II Brothers Grill & Bar

II Brothers Grill & Bar will quickly become your favorite local spot to listen to live music in Plano. The unpretentious bar is always packed full with regulars and servers know you by name after the first visit or two. Every day of the week you can enjoy some sort of live music event, from karaoke every Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday to acoustic performances on the patio Tuesday-Saturday, a DJ on Thursday, and a full indoor band on Friday and Saturday. If you’re feeling hungry, choose something tasty from their extensive breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus.
